Principle of Metal Bellows Mechanical Seal

The principle of metal bellows mechanical seal mainly relies on a pair or several pairs of end faces that slide relative to the axis. Under the action of fluid pressure and the elastic force (or magnetic force) of the compensation mechanism, it relies on the cooperation of the auxiliary seal to keep in contact with the other end and slide relative to each other, thereby preventing fluid leakage. This type of sealing is usually called end face seal or mechanical seal. Metal bellows seal is one of them. It uses metal bellows as an elastic element to provide the necessary elastic force so that the sealing end face can fit tightly and effectively prevent fluid leakage. Metal bellows should have greater elasticity, strength and rigidity to adapt to the environment of high temperature, high pressure and low temperature media. It can be used as an auxiliary seal and an elastic element. In light seals, rubber bellows may also be used as an auxiliary seal, but its elastic force is limited and usually needs to be supplemented with springs to meet the requirements of loading elastic force. Metal bellows mechanical seals occupy an important position in the industrial field due to their unique performance and wide application fields.
