1. Things to note before installation

1. Correctly select the appropriate type of MG1 mechanical seal and material combination according to the working conditions and host status;

2. When a pump or other similar rotating machinery equipped with MG1 mechanical seal is in operation, the axial movement of the rotor is ≤0.3mm.

3. The step of the shaft (or sleeve) where the MG1 mechanical seal is installed must have a 3×10° chamfer and a smooth transition, and its roughness Ra ≤ 1.6.

4. The surface roughness of the shaft (or sleeve) where the MG1 mechanical seal is installed is Ra≤1.6, the runout tolerance is ≤0.04mm, and the standard tolerance is h6.

5. The surface roughness of the contact area between the sealing end cover and the auxiliary sealing ring of the MG1 type mechanical seal static ring is Ra≤1.6, the standard tolerance is H8, and the verticality of the positioning end to the shaft is ≤0.04mm.

6. When installing, it is necessary to clean the sealing cavity, sealing end cover and itself of the shaft (or sleeve) to prevent any impurities from entering the sealing part.

7. Follow the installation instructions or samples to ensure installation standards.

8. For the MG1 mechanical seal driven by a spring, the spring rotation direction should be selected appropriately. Generally, when looking from the motor end to the impeller end, when the rotating shaft is clockwise, a right-hand spring should be selected, and vice versa, a left-hand spring should be selected. 9. When the double-end MG1 mechanical seal is operating, the pressure of the blocking fluid is 0.05-0.2MPa higher than the pressure of the medium in the sealing chamber. 2. Installation precautions

1. The installation process should be carried out in a dry, dust-free and clean working environment, and the sealing cavity and seals should be kept clean.

2. In order to reduce friction resistance, apply a layer of clean lubricating oil or grease on the surface in contact with the auxiliary seal during installation. However, it must be noted that when choosing ethylene-propylene rubber as an auxiliary seal, it must not come into contact with mineral oil or grease. It can be cleaned and lubricated with water or soapy water;

3. The working height of the spring must reach the installation height shown in the product sample or installation diagram.

4. During the installation process, it is forbidden to knock or hit the seal; after the seal installation is completed, do not knock or hit the shaft, sleeve, seal end cover, etc. to avoid damaging the MG1 mechanical seal collision pair and causing seal failure.

3. Things to note when the sealing installation is completed and the equipment is turned on

1. It is necessary to exhaust all the air in the seal cavity, especially for double-end seals with sealing liquid, more attention should be paid to exhausting the air. When starting the machine from the beginning, the suction valve should be opened first, and then the motor should be turned on after the liquid enters the sealing chamber. For those media with crystals, when restarting the car, the crystals on the sealing surface, springs and other related structural parts should be washed away with washing liquid before starting the car.

2. Before starting the equipment, check that the resistance of the rotating shaft feels normal and even, and no jamming is allowed.

3. Before the equipment is put into operation, the sealing cavity must be filled with medium and kept well lubricated to prevent dry friction, which may cause sealing failure.
