1. Requirements for installing O-rings
Before installing O-rings (O-type rubber seals), check the following items:
1. Whether the lead-in angle is processed according to the drawing and whether the sharp edge is chamfered or rounded;
2. Whether the inner diameter is free of burrs and whether the surface is contaminated;
3. Whether the seals and parts have been coated with grease or lubricant (to ensure the medium compatibility of the elastomer, it is recommended to lubricate with the sealed liquid);
4. Grease containing solid additives such as molybdenum disulfide and zinc sulfide shall not be used.
2. Manual installation of O-rings
1. Use tools without sharp edges;
2. Ensure that the O-ring (O-type rubber seal) is not twisted and the O-ring (O-type rubber seal) shall not be stretched excessively;
3. Try to use auxiliary tools to install the O-ring (O-type rubber seal) and ensure correct positioning;
4. For O-rings (O-type rubber seals) bonded with sealing strips, they shall not be stretched at the joints.
3. Install screws, splines, etc.
1. When the O-ring (O-type rubber seal) is stretched and needs to pass through screws, splines, keyways, etc., an installation mandrel must be used. The mandrel can be made of softer, smoother metal or plastic, and must not have burrs or sharp edges.
2. When installing the clamping screw, the screw should be tightened symmetrically and not in directional order.
