• Abrasion Upgrade: Upgrades standard Flygt seals to Silicon Carbide (SiC) faces for superior resistance to sandy or gritty wastewater.

• Chemical Compatibility: When paired with FKM (Viton®) bellows, this seal handles industrial effluents containing chemicals that would degrade NBR seals.

• Thermal Conductivity: SiC runs cooler than Tungsten Carbide, making it a good choice for pumps that might run warm or have marginal cooling.

Q: Is SiC better than Tungsten Carbide?

A: SiC is harder and more chemically resistant, but more brittle. Use SiC for fine grit and chemicals. Use Tungsten Carbide for heavy rocks and severe impact.
